Blues, Brews, & BBQ

Summer Fun at Lakeland

Blues, Brews & BBQ brings Pick-Your-Own blueberries to Lakeland Orchard every Thursday-Sunday in July. Your Day Pass includes blueberry picking for the whole family (while supplies last), plus rides, attractions, and live bluegrass on weekends. Beyond the berries, the festival features an expanded barbecue menu fresh off our on-site smokers and a lineup of local beers on tap all month. Picking is included with admission, and our blueberry field status shows what is ripe before you make the drive to Scott Township near Scranton.

Pick-Your-Own blueberries are included with admission (while supplies last). Walk the rows, find the ripe berries on each blueberry bush, and pick a lot of berries straight into your container. A different variety ripens as the season moves along, so there is a fresh flavor at every picking time. Frequently Asked Questions

Is blueberry picking included with admission?

Yes. U-pick blueberries are included with every Day Pass during Blues, Brews & BBQ (while supplies last). Your ticket also covers rides, attractions, and live bluegrass on weekends. If picking is unavailable when you arrive, we will comp an equal-value alternate option at Admissions. Always check the blueberry field status banner on this page for current conditions before you visit.

Is there a u-pick-only option?

Lakeland does not offer Picking Only tickets. Everyone ages 3 and older needs a Day Pass or Season Pass to enter, and blueberry picking is included once you are in. Day Passes cover picking plus rides, attractions, and weekend music. A Season Pass covers admission all season and includes our sister property, Roba Family Farms.

When is blueberry season at Lakeland?

Our u-pick blueberry season typically runs from early July through late August, depending on the growing season. Picking normally starts in the first week or two of July, and blueberries ripen in stages, so the field moves in and out of full swing. Always check the blueberry field status banner at the top of this page for current picking conditions before you visit.

How many blueberries can I pick?

Your Day Pass includes a 1-quart picking container to fill from the bush. Outside containers are not permitted, but we sell larger picking container sizes for a small fee when supply allows, if you want to take home more than a pound of blueberries.

How do I store my blueberries after picking?

Keep fresh blueberries in a single layer in the fridge and freeze any extras within a few days. A pound of berries freezes well for smoothies and baking later in the year.

Where can I go blueberry picking near Scranton?

Lakeland Orchard offers u-pick blueberries about 20 minutes from Scranton in Scott Township, included with your Day Pass throughout July and August.

How far is Lakeland from Binghamton or Wilkes-Barre?

Lakeland is about 45 minutes from both Binghamton, New York and Wilkes-Barre, and roughly two hours from New York City and Philadelphia, making it an easy summer day trip.

Can I bring my dog?

Federal regulations prevent us from allowing pets inside Lakeland Orchard & Cidery. You are welcome to bring leashed dogs to our sister property, Roba Family Farms, instead.

What is the difference between a day pass and a season pass?

A Day Pass covers one full day of blueberry picking, rides, shows, and weekend music. A Season Pass covers admission all season across every festival and includes our sister property, Roba Family Farms, as well. Most first-time guests start with a day pass.

For hours, ticket details, Season Pass perks, and full policies, see our Info & FAQ page.
