Apple Harvest Festival

Apple Harvest

Our Signature Fall Celebration

Apple Harvest Festival is our signature fall celebration, running Thursday through Sunday from September into November at Lakeland Orchard. Go apple picking across more than 30,000 apple trees with dozens of varieties, meet characters from fan-favorite franchises, and enjoy fall favorites like apple cider donuts and apple dumplings made fresh every day. Picking is included with your Day Pass, plus rides, attractions, and live music on weekends.

It is one of the largest fall orchards in Pennsylvania, and there is something for the whole family: the corn pit, jumping pillows, the carousel, and the Lakeland Express train ride through the orchard. Check the apple field status before you make the drive to Scott Township in Northeast Pennsylvania, and settle in for a full day on a working family farm.

Pick Apples

Orchard is right in our name. Walk the rows of one of the region's largest fall orchards and pick your own apples across dozens of varieties, from early-season crisp apples to the late fall keepers. A different variety ripens as the season moves along, so there is a fresh flavor at every visit. Check the apple field status on this page for what is ripe before you come.

We had the best time with our 2 yr old grandson. He loved all the rides he couldn’t decide which was his favorite. He enjoyed picking his own berries and apples. We can not wait to go back.

It was the perfect way to spend a day together as a family. From grandparents to kids, everyone found something to enjoy. Between apple picking, playing in the corn pit, and the festive decorations, we left with great memories (and delicious apples).

Getting Here

Our fall orchard is easy to reach from across Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Lakeland sits in Scott Township, roughly 20 minutes up the road from Scranton, with Clarks Summit, Carbondale, and the Poconos all close by. Wilkes-Barre and Binghamton, New York are each about 45 minutes out, and New York City and Philadelphia sit around two hours away. That puts a full day of apple picking, live music, and fall on the farm within a short drive for most of the region and within a day-trip range for the cities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is apple picking included with admission?

Yes. Apple picking is included with every Day Pass during Apple Harvest Festival. Your pass also covers rides, attractions, character meet and greets, and live music on weekends. Always check the Apple Field Status banner on this page for current conditions before you visit.

Is there a u-pick-only option?

Lakeland does not offer picking-only tickets. Everyone aged 3 and older needs a Day Pass or Season Pass to enter, and apple picking is included once you are in. A Season Pass covers admission all season and includes our sister property, Roba Family Farms.

When is apple season at Lakeland?

Our apple picking season runs from September through early November. Dozens of varieties ripen in stages across the fall, so the orchard moves through different apples as the season goes. Check the apple field status banner at the top of this page for what is ripe before you visit.

What apple varieties can I pick?

Our lineup shifts as the season moves. Early fall brings snappy, tart-sweet varieties, mid-season fills in the classic all-purpose apples, and the later weeks bring the dense, sweet keepers that store well into winter. We grow dozens across more than 30,000 trees, and what is ripe changes week to week, so check the apple field status banner on this page before you drive out.

How many apples can I pick?

Your Day Pass includes a ¼ bag to fill in the orchard. Outside containers are not permitted, but we sell larger picking container sizes for a small fee when supply allows.

Are the apple cider donuts made fresh?

Yes. Our apple cider donuts and apple dumplings are made fresh every day in Grammy's Bakery & Sweets throughout Apple Harvest Festival.

Is this a good festival for young kids?

Yes. Apple Harvest is built for the whole family, with the corn pit, jumping pillows, the carousel, the Lakeland Express train ride, character meet and greets, and farm animals in the Barnyard. Everything is included with admission.

Where can I go apple picking near Scranton?

Lakeland Orchard offers u-pick apples about 20 minutes from Scranton in Scott Township, included with your Day Pass throughout September and October.

How far is Lakeland from Binghamton or Wilkes-Barre?

Lakeland is about 45 minutes from both Binghamton, New York and Wilkes-Barre. New York City and Philadelphia are roughly two hours away, making the orchard an easy fall day trip.

Can I bring my dog?

Federal regulations prevent us from allowing pets inside Lakeland Orchard & Cidery. You are welcome to bring leashed dogs to our sister property, Roba Family Farms, instead.

What is the difference between a day pass and a season pass?

A Day Pass covers one full day of apple picking, rides, shows, and weekend music. A Season Pass covers admission all season across every festival and includes our sister property, Roba Family Farms, as well. Most first-time guests start with a day pass.

For hours, ticket details, Season Pass perks, and full policies, see our Info & FAQ page.
