Blooms & Berries

Flowers, Butterflies, Blackberries, and More

Blooms & Berries brings Pick-Your-Own blackberries and raspberries to Lakeland Orchard every Thursday through Sunday in August (while supplies last). Your Day Pass includes berry picking or cut-your-own flowers, plus the Butterfly Garden, rides, attractions, and live music on weekends. Our sunflower field opens alongside acres of zinnias and snapdragons, so you can fill a bouquet and take photos in the rows on the same visit.

Pick Blackberries

Pick-Your-Own blackberries and raspberries are included with admission (while supplies last). Walk the rows of our blackberry farm and pick ripe berries as long as your thumb straight into your container. We grow varieties chosen for flavor, and a different one ripens as the month moves along, so there is a fresh taste at every picking time. Container size upgrades are available on-premises when supply allows.

Visit Butterfly Garden

Walk through an enclosed garden full of butterflies, included with admission. Move slowly, and one may land right on you. It is one of the best photo ops on the property, and a favorite stop on school and camp field trips.

Go Flower Picking

Cut your own bouquet in our flower fields, included with admission. Our sunflower field sits alongside huge zinnia and snapdragon plantings, so you can mix colors and heights into an arrangement that lasts all week at home. Sunflower season peaks in August, and a field of sunflowers in full bloom is the best photo backdrop on the farm. Bring a camera!

Live Music Every Weekend

Live music plays every Saturday and Sunday in the Cider Garden, with local acts on the stage all month. Music is included with admission on weekends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is blackberry picking included with admission?

Yes. During Blooms & Berries, every Day Pass includes one U-Pick experience per visit, so you can choose either berry picking (blackberries and raspberries) or flower picking based on what's available that day, while supplies last. Your pass also covers the Butterfly Garden, rides, attractions, and live music on weekends. If picking is unavailable when you arrive, we will comp an equal-value alternate option at Admissions. Always check the field status banner on this page for current conditions before you visit.

Is there a u-pick-only option?

Lakeland does not offer Picking Only tickets. Everyone aged 3 and older needs a Day Pass or Season Pass to enter, and berry picking and flower picking are included once you are in (while supplies last). A Season Pass covers admission all season and includes our sister property, Roba Family Farms.

Is flower picking included too?

Yes. Cutting flowers in our sunflower, zinnia, and snapdragon fields is included with your Day Pass. Take home a bouquet you cut yourself at no extra cost.

When is blackberry season at Lakeland?

Our U-Pick blackberry season runs through August. Blackberries ripen in stages, so the field moves in and out of full swing across the month. Check the field status banner at the top of this page for current picking conditions before you visit.

When do the sunflowers bloom?

Our sunflower field blooms in August, timed to open with Blooms & Berries. Peak bloom usually lands in the middle of the run, though sunflower season shifts a little each year with the weather. Check this page before you drive out if the flowers are the reason for your visit.

How many berries can I pick?

Your Day Pass includes a 1 quart picking container to fill from the canes. Outside containers are not permitted, but we sell larger picking container sizes for a small fee when supply allows.

How do I store blackberries after picking?

Keep fresh blackberries in a single layer in the fridge and eat or freeze them within a few days. They freeze well for smoothies, cobblers, and baking later in the year.

Can I bring my dog?

Federal regulations prevent us from allowing pets inside Lakeland Orchard & Cidery. You are welcome to bring leashed dogs to our sister property, Roba Family Farms, instead.

What is the difference between a day pass and a season pass?

A Day Pass covers one full day of blackberry picking, rides, shows, and weekend music. A Season Pass covers admission all season across every festival and includes our sister property, Roba Family Farms, as well. Most first-time guests start with a day pass.
